I think the thing that swings popular opinion in Melinda's favour is that she went and made a sworn statement before the court. Who would go and do that, unless they were being 100% honest. I mean, the threat of being charged with perjury is real. This isn't something that you do lightly, or when a situation is being overblown. Also, who goes to the extreme of making a sworn statement to the court if it was just a 1 time, "it slipped out" comment from someone else. Especially since the hockey wives community is so closed ranks for the most part. I'm sure they don't always get along, and yet you NEVER hear anything about it. This is a very public action, and Melinda would have to have known that there would be bad press, that reflects on Karlson, during a contract year. This all very much seems to me that actions of somebody that is at their wits end.
