I think at 9am it's just a totally different dynamic when you're by yourself, as opposed to being in a comedic ensemble. I've listened to Pinder at times when filling in for Pat on Flames pre/post game shows and it takes me a few mins to realize it's even Pinder because he sounds so different and businesslike than the mornings. I think it speaks to the wide range he has as a media personality, he can do funny and serious very well.
I feel like I'm in the minority but I genuinely like all 3, and would be sad if anyone from that core leaves (DeForest too). I find I just can't relate to Rhett's personality the way I can the other two, but he brings value to the show as a former player, I love his playing days stories about what the Iggy-era locker room was like. Plus his random musings, and his presence results in getting random "celeb" phone-ins (Razor, D. Sutter, etc) on a dime they'd never get without him there.
I do disagree though on anyone who thinks Rhett should run the show in Boomer's place, haha that would go so terribly. He's WAY too lazy and sporadic and would mail it in so hard and be woefully unprepared, plus he trips over his own tongue a lot. Being a panel guy and being the host are two completely different roles and skillsets, which I don't think a lot of people consider or appreciate.
