Thanksgiving weekend of 1990, I was in my second year of university in Windsor, Ontario. Our defensive end, Ed Chisholm, was on his way back to Hamilton for turkey dinner. His brother was driving, his sister-in-law was in the passenger seat and Ed had fallen asleep in the back set as we had just played a game and he was dog tired. A drunk driver crossed the median on the 401 and hit them head on killing Ed instantly. 20 years old and he was gone. One of the best natural athletes I have ever seen.

Turns out the guy was a serious repeat offender. I think 5 or 6 offenses. He got four years. Four.
