The Flames desperately need 2 top 6 forwards.
If Backlund and Frolik are in your top 6, you're not a playoff team. They are elite 3rd line players, but if you don't have the depth to have them in their proper roles, your team is not very good.
The Flames could always use a center and a RW. It is possible to shift Janko over to the wing if a C is acquired.
Anything less than this
Gaudreau-Monahan-New guy
Tkachuk-New guy/Janko-New guy
Bennett-Backlund-Frolik
Miscellaneous guys that earn the 4th line spots.
probably means the team misses again. Ferland should not be counted on as a top 6 forward. He is basically this team's version of Glencross. A guy who can pot 20, but is still a 3rd/4th line forward.

I've half convinced myself that Brandon Saad won't cost as much as some would think to get. I feel the Blackhawks need a D man. Any D man. and they need to cut some cap. IMO, Stone for Saad is in the ballaprk of what I figure they'd do. Probably off base but closer to the mark than further away.
I think Lindholm can be had as well. RFA and the Canes are going to be weird for a couple of years with their owner running the ship. He might be a little costlier than I think he is worth but I think the Flames could get him.
But why get him? 23 year old RFA who puts up 40 points a year?
Well he is right handed, is a natural center and if we're talking about adding one RW and one C....Why not Lindholm? He can slot in anywhere from the 1-3 RW, the 2-3 C. Just multi tooled assset to have when the argument is GOOD solid forward depth. Just feel he may be a good target to move something for.
