I do think there has been an increase in gawping and s######ing at the vulgar antics of fools. And that's not a positive development. There's a reason the word 'prurient' has fallen out of the English lexicon - we no longer consider it shameful to entertain ourselves with the intimate follies of strangers.
Personally, I'd let my kids watch torture porn like Saw before I'd let them watch the Jersey Shore or Real Housewives.
