when i was younger, i used to run red lights when folks were waiting, but as i got older i realized how that action polarizes drivers opinions of cyclists, so i no longer do that.

Actually the reason I asked is because a driver did that to me today. A firefighter actually. You could tell because of the decal on his truck and his uniform. Had I not been on the way to work I'd have followed him to his station down the block and had a chat with him.
