While I know it is legal to filter at a light I usually never do it. Anything to not potentially piss of a driver that doesn't know the rules and could be motivated to become a threat to you. Following enough bike folks on twitter you see plenty of situations that become dangerous even when the cyclist is following the rules of the road.
