Allegedly. Innocent until proven guilty.
The good news is, you don't need sympathy to realize that the police shouldn't be escalating a situation unnecessarily. If someone poses no danger and is not trying to escape, there really shouldn't be a reason to use physical force to that extent. I mean, the guy is literally backed into a corner.
