No experience with the fantastic fans but the Maxxfans are great. If you're replacing a fan/vent I can't think of a single reason why you wouldn't get a Maxxfan. We've got a pair of the basic 4 speed manual open ones. To be honest, we rarely use the fan because it's not needed in our little van. The lid that you can keep open during the rain however - priceless. Sure, fantastic fans self close with rain but that doesn't do you much good if it's still warm inside does it.

Actually, I can think of one negative. They're kind of heavy. Compared to the old fan-less vents the roof deflection is noticeable over bumps. But that's in a flimsy fibreglass topped van. In a normal RV/Trailer where you can walk on the roof that isn't going to be an issue.
