Why is this news? There are hundreds of thousands of teachers in Canada. Some of them get reprimanded for doing dumb stuff.
If this is the threshold for being reprimanded and making national news today, I had a bunch of teachers who would make the cut.
The best was my grade 9 English teacher Mr. Bland. A Canadian who volunteered in Vietnam. Said that as a member of a bomber crew, he had without doubt killed hundreds and hundreds of people. Maybe thousands. Told us about how his unit used to take a truck through a village that was known to sympathize with the Vietcong, and the kids were spies for the enemy. So one time the soldiers all gathered rocks, and when a kid they were sure was Vietcong came running behind the truck they all threw rocks 'until there wasn't anything left of that kid except a bloody pulp." Said the U.S. could have easily won the war if the military's hands weren't tied by the politicians back home. And he was one of those teachers who always walked the halls at lunch with his arms around grade 7 girls. Good ole' Mr. Bland.
