I think more than anything this entire discussion is a clear reflection of how the definition of the English word "sport" is currently undergoing a transition. Words don't have meanings, they have
usages. And in this case the
usage of the word "sport" is definitely changing to mean something more than it did a decade ago. Whether you like it or not, if "e-sports" are not already a "sport" (and I don't see why not, since the word is already in common usage), then it very shortly will be. It's the nature of language. It changes.
