The biggest fact though is that there was very good experienced coaches available for both the head coaching job and the assistant coaches positions and BT went dumpster diving again instead of spending to give this roster a real shot at winning. Is Bill Peters an upgrade on GG? No, they are the same damn coach with exception that GG is more of a players coach whereas Bill can be harder. They are both Babcock disciples, they preach the same system. If anything GG gets a nod because he has actually at least made the playoffs. I don't know enough about Ward but he can't be worse then Cameron so there is that but he sure as hell is not as good as Paul MacLean. Maybe the owners don't want to spend the money and are fine with mediocrity behind the bench but I am freakin tired of it! I hope they prove me wrong but unless there is some big player changes coming I see a strong LV team that might win the Cup, a strong SJ team, a Ducks team that has a stacked D but are getting long in the tooth up front in a few places, an Oilers team that were terrible last year but hit a home run with their AC hires and despite how much I hate them they are going to be better, and a young Yotes team that is due to break out. Unless this team can add some depth in the bottom six and a legit top line RW this team is looking at dead last in the Pacific with this coaching squad. If they can add those pieces we can fight for a wild card. This was the perfect opportunity for BT to fix his screw up the first time and instead he just shuffled the chairs...
