I'm not as hostile against certain candidates as assistant coaches as I would have been if they are head coaches.
A guy like Desjardins has a pretty solid reputation as a hockey man in Canada, so to talk like it's the end of the world if a guy with a resume like that was on Peter's staff seems a little over the top to me.
To suggest he should be a head coach is different, though. That takes you into his record in Vancouver and I get that.
But the guy would clearly bring something to the table and be a pretty veteran voice to fill out a coaching suite. I'd have patience to see how that would work.
I'm going to keep an open mind. I like the fact that Peters has been parts of some pretty intense coaching staffs with experience that had roles assigned with success (World Cup)
