Apples and oranges. Kipper’s contract had a steady decline in salary as he aged only dropping below 2 million in the very last year of his contract. 8.5 > 7.0 > 7.0 > 6.0 > 5.0 > 1.5. That is a far cry from Hossa’s which paid him almost 8 million per year from 2009 to 2016. Then getting half that in 2017 then only 1 million for the next 4 years. 7.9 x 7 years > 4.0 > 1.0 > 1.0 > 1.0 > 1.0. Definitely not the same.
