Has there every been a forward that's never had a 60 point season made so much money? He's already over $30 million in career earnings and with this contract will be over $80 million. There's little doubt that the projection of what Evander Kane could be is much more tantalizing than the reality and some teams are still willing to roll the dice on the projection. It would have been interesting to see what he ultimately would have got in free agency as he's pretty polarizing so I imagine a few teams would have crossed him off the list based on character concerns but there would have been a few teams with significant interest I'm sure.
