Basically you are saying that if a player gets a career ending injury, he does't get paid and the team get's penalized.

I am saying it because it is obvious he is not playing due to his own choice, not because he can't. He has had this condition for years and all of the sudden at the end of a front loaded contract where he is only making 1M/yr it is suddenly a problem? I call B.S. It is clear that he is not retiring so the Hawks can not get dinged with the cap hit which any way you cut it is cap circumvention. He didn't suddenly experience a career ending concussion or injury, he just doesn't want to go through some discomfort for a measly 1M/yr.
