Which GMs value ideology and systems less than Treliving, and more so in favour of a coach's record?
I think it is fair to say that Treliving hired the candidate which he believes is best suited and qualified to achieve success with his team. Discussions about how much more he values rapport over accomplishments, or which NHL General Managers gravitate moreso towards one or the other are no more than guesswork.

Well you definitively stated that Treliving uses the same criteria for hiring a coach as every other GM in the league.
I personally believe that’s unlikely. And there is atleast some objective evidence to support this belief.
