Flat Earthers aren't unique in this.
Basically most
conspiracy the
orists are really good at creating narratives that
make sense to them, they also rely on not having to defend debunking efforts, mainly because the whole thing is that they debate in a defensive style, a
prove my crazy conspiracy theory is fa
lse, then ignoring the facts and circling back to the same point over and over again.
You look at the tenuous strings in any conspiracy theory.
The Jew
s rule the world bas
ed on created fiction ove
r one family, the book the Protocals of the Elder Zion (Written by Russian's to discredit the Jews), Nazi Propaganda that they belie
ve to this day.
The 9/11 Conspiracy th
eory - Built aro
und fal
se science (Super Thermite) and a grand conspiracy theory that when held up to the light of the day is ludicris, and shaky or outright dishonest witnesses (The guy who claimed he saw a missile fly into the pentagon, but turned out that he was nowhere near the pentagon that day)
Darpa weather control, Lizard men, Pearl Harbour conspiracy theories.
The average conspiracy theorist wants to be the smartest guy in the room, the man with the secrets or the ultimate knowledge who can see through these incredible plots. And they hold onto that no matter what.
Then they are fed by pieces of crap like Alex Jones and others who make a fortune writing books of garbage, or spreading lies, and they go from convention to convention collecting appearance fees and autograph fees.
(I wish I thought of that, because I think I'd be awesome at it)
