Jays have basically just lost their most valuable pitcher (in terms of trade value) for nothing. Not insignificant odds that he never suits up for the Jays again and the universe of teams that would want him after this incident is probably small and that's assuming the Jays offer to trade him at a fraction of his actual performance value.
This is a major blow to the organization.

Yeah, this is pretty much a disaster from an organizational asset point of view.
Also decimates the bull pen for the current season.....at least.
