Less than 2 years old, and I'd guess close to 50km of use in total.

Today, this happened. Spoiler for size:
Spoiler!

The male end is considerably smaller than the female end (that's what she said) and won't thread back in.
When I say 50km on it, it's mostly in a cul-de-sac with 6 & 8 year old kids. No crazy adventures here. It's always hung from the ceiling in the garage. It's never had a traumatic experience, nor has it been ridden hard, so I don't understand what went wrong.

Other than the piece on the left side of the hole that looks destroyed, am I missing anything?
can I get just that bar that the pedal threads into? Or do I need a whole new ?crank set?.

I'd love to do it myself if it'll save me some coin. Any suggestions?
Get a Pedal Tap and a heli coil insert. The pedal taps in this instance are 5/8 and the insert is 9/16 like your pedal. You tap the crank and loctite the heli coil in the crank.
