There probably is a deal there with Hamilton and Stone.

- Hamilton could help the Sens ease through the departure of Karlsson, he's younger and they can build around him;
- Stone could play on many lines in Calgary. With Johnny and Mony, with Tkachuck and even with his junior line mate Ferland. Flames should be able to put together 3 very good lines with Stone in the fold;
- Stone may sign a long term deal given his western roots and with his brother already here;
- Given Melnyk's history, Sens likely won't want to pay Stone the money and term he's seeking;
- Flames take a hit on the back end but the most ready prospect is Andersson who plays the right side and is an offensive defenceman like Hamilton. He won't replace his production entirely (at least not yet) but maybe Gio produces more offensively when he's not always covering up for Hamilton. You could make the argument that Gio's offense has taken a hit since being paired with Hamilton full time. Could just be Gio deferring to Hamilton and staying back more as the defensive conscience.
