That span over the front door should probably have a header beam of some sort, no? I'd call 311 right away before this goes to far. They should have had a foundation inspection and the property line issue must have been brought up then.

That's a tall wall opening. Looks like that's where the stairs are going.
That is ridiculous. You're going to have their trades in your yard all the time when they put in the windows, do the soffit fascia and siding, roofing nails falling into your side yard...
I can not believe that they are getting away with that unless you're zoned for zero lot line.
