Flames had a 2nd pair defense that had just come off a spectacular 2nd half of season run to make the playoffs.
Trading for Hamonic was a minor upgrade at best that came with a huge price tag.
It will be interesting how the rest of the league evaluates the Flames talent by the off season trades.
