Some of the tow weights and payloads on these new half tons are scary. New halfs have way more capacity than old 3/4 or almost 1 tons. Talking to guys that tow with them say they are OK but downhill, wind etc. it still feels like a half ton. After doing the the 3/4 ton switch I will give up a mile or 2 a gallon for the better towing thank you.
Don't have to worry about some Sheriff or RCMP pulling me over and telling me I am overweight then have to leave half my stuff on the side of the road and get a ticket and wreck a vacation or trip.

I upgraded my trailer last year and the new one weighed over 8000# I was legal at the weigh station in my F150 (HD payload package + max tow) but it would push me around going gdown hills. I went to a 3/4ton diesel and don't even know it's back there.
