I actually didn't see your post, but you and I are on the same page. Funny it looks like we have similar towing experience. I upgraded my trailer last year and the new one weighed over 8000# I was legal at the weigh station in my F150 (HD payload package + max tow) but it would push me around going gdown hills. I went to a 3/4ton diesel and don't even know it's back there.
