Adam Warlock's main purpose in much of the comics (well since the 1970s) is to defeat Thanos and then guard the infinity stones.

That being said, it would be a bit lame to bring in Warlock as the solution to Thanos in A4, without having fleshed him out first.

I know he is, I’m just saying he won’t be in the next avengers movie. It’s already been confirmed.

I also don’t think it is necessary to spoiler general knowledge about comic book stories that came out 30 years ago.
