He only has 3 more seasons on his contract so your wording is misleading.
His cap hit is 8.5 but next year he is actually only owed 7.5, then 7 and his final season it's 5.5 million. He would be attractive to a team with lots of cap space.
His 2016-2017 season was an off year but he had a solid bounce back year this season. He was playing in front of a pretty bad team and still put up good numbers.
Goalie prospects aren't worth much. You aren't going to get an 11 time All-Star for a goalie prospect and a 3rd rounder. Even if Lundqvist is in his twilight years. He's still a good goalie and his name alone means something.
