It is a sunk cost overall and not worth stressing over. I think Hamonic was better the 2nd half of the year and is the type of player they don't have enough of.
I'm not thrilled with the price paid but what's done is done.

Of course you will be more upset. Everyone who calls themselves a Flames fan would be devastated if it turns out the Flames traded an even higher pick, let alone potentially a top 3 pick, for a number 4 defenceman.
I don't really care what Hamonic did for a 40 game stretch to end the year, it will be a disgusting overpayment, much more like what Edmonton gave up for a one dimensional Larsson, that is and should be viewed as one of the worst deals made recently.
