Peters said all the things we'd hope to hear from him, and I more than anything to be able to get excited for this coming season and for things to turn around. But I do have to step back and understand he was of course going to pitch all the good things we want to hear.

They always do, I mean go back and listen to the GG presser and you'll get a hard on just listening to the bull#### he fed us that never translated to the ice.

With that being said I'm really keen on the fact he worked closely with and is good friends with Babcock, watching this Toronto/Boston series you can see just how much coaching comes into play especially on special teams.

The assistants are usually in charge, however last nights game there were many occasions where Babcock took over and you could see him making adjustments and talking to the players between shifts trying to change things up. This gives me hope as Peters specifically mentioned that those live game adjustments are on him and he feels he needs to step in adjust if things are not working.

Glen never seemed to do that, I never saw him pacing up and down the bench between shifts on special teams adjusting the lines or plan to fit the specific need at that time and I hope by Peters acknowledging it has to happen that he actually does it.

I was completely 200% against the Peters signing, but I will admit now that I'm now officially cautiously optimistic based on how he seems to fit the mold of a middle man between the Hartley and GG systems. Will in translate to the ice next year?

We'll see, but I'm now at least in the group of fans hoping he can turn things around between a change in coach and hopefully some top 6 roster changes this summer.
