I don't know ENOUGH of his coaching to expertly have a valid opinion of him one way or the other (and I am sure there are some people who do have enough insight).

I just watched him take pretty much the best roster in the WHL and get completely out coached in the playoffs. He's got a reputation for being a complete a-hole, and lost the room 3/4 of the way through the season.
His system was one dimensional and he never adapted, players were not free to take risks outside of his system. They played his way to the end and it got them bounced in the second round.
The only good thing that would come from Calgary making him an assistant is that he's be the heck out of MJ and one of our assistants could move up.
