I'm against moving Hamilton in general, but if you do I'm almost certain it has to be star for star or we'll be sitting with absolute regret in a few years.
I totally understand your rational by the way, but that is the classic "we need to replace who we're giving to you, so give us a cheaper replacement plus the thing we want".
Almost zero chance for winning that deal. It'll almost assuredly turn into one of the hundreds of "remember when team X traded this star for a second pairing D-man and a second line forward?
We probably shouldn't trade Hamilton, but if we do please do not try to turn him into two players we need. Please, please, please do not do this.
