How about guys like
- Semin dropping from 42 in 65 games to 19 points
- Sekera going from producing like Dougie Hamilton with 44 points to producing 19 points
Does that do anything for you?
My overarching concern and the whole point was whether he proved to be able to get players and the team producing at their potential.
Staal was an example because he went from franchise (which not many players can do) to mediocre.
I have questions. Perhaps you don’t. I quite honestly don’t care.

Semis was out of the NHL after that, and has failed to produce in the khl since. I get the skepticism, but very few guys besides staal have actually seen their production increase since leaving peters. It really does look like a roster issue to me.
Carolina was great at possession, but lacked the skill to get towards scoring areas. They relied on strong defence and were undone by crap goaltending. Like really bad goaltending.
Considering the circumstances this could have turned into buffalo calibre dumpster fire and never did. Peters had them playing competitive hockey and I think there is good reason for optimism with what he can do with a real roster.
