To be clear, I am fully on board with giving Peters his chance. I trust Treliving, and if he is willing to hang his career on the guy, I am more than willing to take a wait and see approach.

Having said that, there are definitely a few reasons for concern. And one that hasn't really been talked about yet is the bolded.

One season of this core was just wasted. I am hoping that this hire won't waste any more. However, even if they do make the playoffs next year, they will go into them with a team that has had one series in three years and a coach that has never coached in the playoffs.

For Treliving's sake, Peters better be ready for a big jump in his coaching progression.
