You said "overachieved".
"Overachieving" with a bad team would be in my books be pulling them to mediocrity. Mediocrity in the NHL is playoff bubble, first round and out every now and then. The Hurricanes have not hit that once in four tries. They haven't even hit 90 points. They haven't progressed at all in the last three seasons.
As I said, you must think the 'Canes roster is absolutely terrible if you think 87 points is "overachieving".
I mean, you can easily argue that they are truly just that bad. I don't agree, but neither of us are experts. I was just surprised someone thinks the 'Canes have overachieved in some way.
