Is it that difficult for many to accept the idea that Peters perhaps was a hot commodity?
Yes, a hot commodity. Dallas and perhaps the Rangers were after him and the Flames had to poop or get off the pot.
If the Flames were sold on him, they had to move quickly. It appears they did.
Stay tuned.
As stated earlier , he is a Mike Babcock disciple. Worked with Babcock well. Still takes player talent.
The frustration is understandable but if you want to go back and study the rebuild up to this point, look carefully at what the Flames received for their top 3 assets and in the case of 2 of them , how long they waited to move them.
Losing Kipper and trading Iginla for basically nothing, two years after they should have been traded and trading Bouwmeester for nothing a whole season before he became a free agent, set the rebuild back substantially.
As a result, the talent level is not where it should be or should have been.
Will a good coach make a difference? Of course!
But so does good and deep talent.
