To me, it's Gulutzan 2.0, basically Treliving saying that he believes in building and coaching a team for the advanced stats. Yet another coach whose teams have great fancy stats but poor records that significantly underperform expectations.

Obviously, Treliving thinks Gulutzan was the right choice but the players tuned him out. Unfortunately, that's also what I heard about Peters in Carolina. Even The Fan 960 was critical, quoting a former Flame (Commodore, I believe) who said he couldn't understand the move.

Why do we insist on hiring coaches with a proven track record of poor performance?
