1) If coaches were as influential on the team as some here seem to believe, they'd be paid $10 mil a season.
2) If it was a simple as hiring the guy who has the most career wins, Ron Wilson, Mike Keenan, and Lindy Ruff would all have NHL head coaching jobs right now.
3) Carolina for Peters' tenure has been a rebuilding, low-budget team with probably the worst group of forwards in the league, and poor goaltending.
