And yet those GMs trade 21 year olds all the time. And a lot of times when they hold on to them until they're 23 they wish they would have traded them at 21.
You say it's emotion (impatience) that would prompt someone to move a Sam Bennett. I'd suggest it's emotion that could prevent a GM from making the smart move, namely the sunk cost fallacy.
