In which case enjoy the darkness for another few years.
Loved the guy when the game was different but his system and hockey sense isnt for todays game.
Disagree. There's different ways to win. You can win by being small, fast and skilled. You can win by being big, strong and skilled. The skill part is important though.

Sutter didn't always win with big, strong, cycling teams though. Back in 03-04 our team was based on speed, and relentless forechecking pressure. We did have Chris Simon for some grit and net front presence and he did play a role but that team was not built the way LA was.

Perhaps you underestimate Sutter's ability to coach different sets of players to different strengths/weaknesses?

We do have one of the best in the league along the boards and in front of the net. Matt Tkachuk is born to play Sutter hockey.

I think Sutter is the best coach we've had in my time of following the Flames. I am fully on board with bringing him back if he's interested. Some reasons why I think he'd be a great fit. Darryl Sutter is
1. A leader of men
2. A motivator
3. A proven winner
4. Commands respect

It's clear that our team needs more leadership and motivation from the coaching position. Sutter whips guys into line without being a total ass about it.

I think he'd be a fantastic fit. I don't really understand those who think he's a dinosaur or that our roster doesn't fit him. I think that's underrating his ability by a large margin.
