If Brad is willing to put his job on the line for a less experienced coach, I'm all far it.
If the mandate from ownership is "make the playoffs next year or you're gone" and Treliving still does what he believes is the right thing, despite having several other known commodities being available, that's pretty bold. It's what I want to see.
If he selects somebody who clashes with his vision, he'll never truly see his process play out, and he'll never truly see whether his vision was correct.
