No suspension-fine
Morrissey's cross-check was definitely a penalty, but there is no evidence it was some retaliatory action. He was trying to box out Staal with a cross-check which is normal, but he ends up missing the shoulder and it goes into his neck. Penalty, no history of similar actions by the player, at most it should be a fine.
It may have turned the game, nobody knows. The fact is that Minnesota had two more periods to score, and focusing on one play, is a deliberate attempt to overshadow their failure to score.
