Is there a successful team recently that didnt have a "stacked" roster though? And more than that, a great roster who were playing well at the right time of the year to win it all.
I mean, it's just weird to me that fans judge coaches negatively when they have good teams and get good results.
As for playoff success, yeah I get it, but you mentioned Pittsburgh. Hard to pin that on coaching is it not? Does Sullivan get no kudos for winning back to back because he has a great roster?
Quenneville/AV are another guy that everyone salivates over if he was to be available...he just missed the playoffs. But because he had great rosters previously, he was the best in the business and would be welcome just about anywhere.
Really not singling you out as this is a common thing to see. I'm just not sure that the same criteria are applied equally to each candidate.
It's all good though as people can have faves for whatever reason they want obviously. I'm a big Barry Trotz fan and think he would be tremendous for this particular team.
