I don't doubt that Darryl Sutter would be a big improvement but he's closer to the bottom of my list than the top of coaches I would like to see hired. I think this team needs to get past the stage of being a playoff hopeful and maybe anything can happen in the playoffs. That's mediocrity IMO. I want to see a team that takes care of business in the regular season and sets themselves up with home ice advantage in the playoffs. My issue with Sutter is that his style of coaching takes a toll over an 82 game season as those cup winning Kings teams had to scratch and claw just to get into the playoffs. Just because he could make historic runs with wildcard teams with a veteran Kings team I don't think you can count on him to recreate that magic with a different roster. I just don't know if this roster is built to play Sutter hockey like it needs to be played to get the utmost success. I feel it's built more for an up-tempo speed game (ironically Gulutzan and his staff never took advantage of this).
