I don't think he is going to take another gamble. It is in his best interest to hire the guy that he thinks will give the best chance of winning. Anything else would be irrational. So if he hires Peters it is because he thinks Peters is the best guy for the job.
The only thing I do wonder is if the Flames simply aren't considered an attractive destination for the bigger name coaches, which limits the pool of candidates somehow.
But apart from that, why would BT hire anyone less than the guy he thinks is the best for the job? What would the motivations be?
