I'm glad the Flames took their time to do this the right way, rather than fire GG the day the season ended as some were calling for. It was worth completing the evaluation process (sorry!) including exit interviews with all the players, coaches and staff before finalizing the decision. It's not as if any of the top coaching candidates were going to sign the first offer they received, and it looks better on the organization (especially to potentially incoming staff) if they make decisions in a careful and considered way rather than making knee-jerk reactions.
Plus, with GG in Humboldt to offer support for the community, that clearly was not the time to fire him.
