People want goals, and wins and a coach that can motivate a team and have them ready to play. Like it or not, pros or not, getting a team ready to go is part of the coach's job.

A lot of people are bored of deep diving stats that fly in the face of what really matters, and what they're seeing when they watch these boring games. They might have been interested in that three months ago, but it's over.
Maybe people should also realize that all Bingo is saying is that Treliving not firing Gulutzan the day the season finished isn't the end of the world.

It's April 17th. The first round of the playoffs are barely at the mid-point. The draft lottery is 11 days away, the draft isn't until June 22nd.

Treliving has lots of time to make this decision and there are likely things going on behind the scenes too.

He had to have all his player meetings, coaching staff meetings, professional scouting staff meetings, and I'm sure he had to review some type of plan/proposal for changes this off-season with Burke, King, and the Ownership group.

When Hartley was fired it was done on May 3rd, their season ended April 9th that year, and the firing was done after the conclusion of the first round of the playoffs.

That probably gives you an idea of the process and timelines that we should expect from Treliving here.

Deep dive has nothing to do with advanced stats.

It's more likely talking to the core players on the team in detail about their thoughts about what went wrong this year, and if they think coaching is part of that.

It's meeting with your AGMs, Scouting staff, talking to other trusted hockey minds and getting their 2 cents.

And it's likely having to bring a plan and a proposal to the Flames executive team and ownership group and getting their approval on any move, and the timing from that move.

EDIT: Good thing everyone was freaking out that Treliving was taking so long.
