Unlike what seems like a lot of members of this board, the answer is a resounding 'no'. I've been a fan since I could follow hockey at 8 or 9. A lot less people watched and went to games in the early 2000s.

The depressing years amplify the great ones. The young guns era ended in an amazing playoff run in 2004 that was one of my best memories. Another drought ended in another (albeit shorter) cinderella run to the second round in 2015, with another amazing red mile experience.

Even the 'depressing' years have had some great wins, win-streaks, and player performances. We got to watch one of the best players (Iginla) of all time for a long time. Now we have one of the top scorers and entertaining players in the league.

It's not the best franchise, but it's 'mine'.
