Is you IT band tight? It's the muscle that runs from your hip to you knee on the outside of your leg. Try rolling it out to see if it's tight

I'd go physio first unless you have a doctor that happens to be really good a sports injuries. I have not found the generic family doctor good for athletic injuries (sample size of 2)
