so your fact is based on a rumor that the Canucks were interested in Backlund before the trade deadline as a 2-3 year stop gap until their kids were ready to go (as per Friedman)
Would it be possible that Backlund's agent be feeding this rumor to Friedman?
This was long before they knew if the Sedins were coming back and at what cap...
