I wonder if ownership will only want to pay GG not to coach for them if they get "the coach" they want. Maybe between brad and ownership there is only a list of 3 coaches that to them are worth bringing in for long term. There is no point firing GG if you end up having to hire a coach that you don't see as a true fit long term. Ownership probably isn't happy still paying Hartley. Just spit balling.
